Getting started

Creating your church on Psalmly and finding your way around the admin area.

How do I create a church?

From your personal hub, choose New church and follow the four-step wizard:

  1. Basics — your church's name, and optionally its denomination and location.
  2. Subdomain — the web address members will visit, e.g. yourchurch.<the platform domain>. It must be lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens; common reserved words (like admin or www) aren't available.
  3. Brand — a primary colour (and optional secondary) for your church's look.
  4. Confirm — review everything, check the time zone (detected from your browser — change it if it's wrong; events and service times use it), then create.

Whoever creates a church becomes its owner.

How do I open the admin area?

Each church has an admin area at /c/<your-subdomain>/admin. Open it from your personal hub by selecting the church. The sidebar there is where you manage people, settings, and (as they ship) content, giving, and scheduling.

How do I change my church's name, time zone, or branding?

In the admin area, go to Settings. The identity form covers name, subdomain, location, time zone, and a short blurb; the brand form covers colours and logo. Changes save immediately.

Who can do what?

See people.md for what each role (visitor, member, admin, owner) can do.
