It is deliberately not a large-church platform. The things a staffed church runs on Sunday morning are left out on purpose, and the page below says which.

What Psalmly deliberately does not do
A church that needs these is better served elsewhere, and we would rather say so here than have you find out in month three.
- Recording who came on Sunday
- No roll call and no scanner at the door. Events take RSVPs and registrations, so you know who said they were coming — but nobody is counted on the way in.
- Building the order of service
- Song lists and run sheets live outside Psalmly. The weekly bulletin can carry an order of service, but Psalmly is not where the music is planned.
- Assigning volunteers to Sunday slots
- Groups have members and events take sign-ups, but nothing here tells someone they are on next week. There is no rota to build or swap.
- Anything that needs a staff member to run it
- If a feature only makes sense when somebody is in an office five days a week, it is out of scope. That is the line we hold, and it is why the rest stays simple.
Questions churches ask
How small is small?
The free plan covers up to 50 members and Community up to 250. The design assumption underneath both is a church without office staff — one person, often a pastor, doing this between everything else.
Do we need someone technical to run it?
No. Setup is an afternoon, there is nothing to install, and the parts a church touches weekly — announcements, events, the bulletin — are the parts we work hardest to keep simple.
What if we outgrow it?
The member cap is soft, so nothing breaks and nobody is turned away. If your church grows into needing Sunday rotas and a desk that logs arrivals, we would rather tell you plainly than sell you a worse version of a bigger platform.
Do our members need to download an app?
Not unless they want to. Everything works on the web, and the Psalmly app on iOS and Android is there for the members who prefer it. Your public church page is open to anyone, no account at all.
Can we move what we already have?
Your member list, yes — import it from a spreadsheet when you invite people. Past giving is not a self-serve import; talk to us and we will help you move it. Saved cards and recurring gifts cannot be moved by anyone — those live with the payment processor, so givers re-enter them once.
What does it cost?
The core app is free forever for churches up to 50 members. Community and Growth add the AI assistant and Scribe, a custom domain and a higher cap.
