Delete your account

You can delete your account yourself, right inside Psalmly — on the web or in the mobile app. Deletion is scheduled and takes effect after a 30-day grace period, during which you can restore your account at any time. We email you a confirmation when you start, so nothing happens silently. After the 30 days, your account and personal data are permanently removed automatically.

1. If you are the only leader of a church, first hand leadership off to another admin or close the church, so its members and records are not left without an owner — the app shows you which churches this applies to. (If you do not solely lead a church, skip this step.)
2. Go to Account → Delete account — on the web at psalmly.app/account, or in the mobile app under Profile → Delete account.
3. Review what is removed and what is kept, confirm it's you with your password (or biometrics on mobile), and type DELETE to confirm.
4. Your account is now scheduled for deletion in 30 days. You can restore it anytime before then from the same screen — after that, it is removed permanently, with no further action needed.

Can't sign in to your account? Email privacy@psalmly.app from the address on your account with the subject "Account deletion request," and our team will verify and complete it for you.

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove your personal account and the personal data tied to it, including:

• Your profile — name, email address, password, profile photo, phone number, and bio;
• Your church memberships and your role in each church;
• Content you created — prayer requests, group posts and photos, comments and replies, event RSVPs and registration-form responses, and messages you sent to the AI assistant;
• Messages you sent us through contact and feedback forms;
• Your saved payment methods, push-notification tokens, and device identifiers.

A limited amount of information must be retained even after your account is deleted:

• Giving and financial records. Because donations are financial records, your church (the merchant of record) and Psalmly retain a record of your gifts — amount, fund, date, and confirmation number — to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations, generally up to seven years. These are kept even if you leave a church or delete your account, so contribution statements stay accurate. Your card and bank details are held by our payment processor, Stripe — never by Psalmly.
• De-identified data. Information that has been aggregated or stripped of identifiers, so that it can no longer reasonably identify you, may be retained.
• Backups. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time before they are overwritten.
