Updating your church information

How to edit your church's profile after setup — basics, branding, contact, location, and service times — plus publishing and changing your handle.

Everything the setup wizard captured can be changed later from the Church profile editor. It's the source of truth for your public Psalmly profile, so keeping it current is how members and visitors see the right details.

Open the editor

From your church's admin area, choose Church profile in the sidebar. The editor is organized into sections down the left — Basics, Look, Photos, Contact, Location, Service times, and Visit info. Pick the section you want; each one saves on its own, so you can update just what you need without stepping through a wizard.

The sections

  • Basics — your church name, public handle, denomination, tagline, and the "about" description. (See changing your handle below.)
  • Look — your logo, the accent color used across your profile, and your public page's Layout. Logos look best square (at least 256×256).
  • Photos — your wide cover image (around 1600×600) plus the photo gallery for your public page. You can drag a focal point on each so the right part survives cropping.
  • Contact — email, phone, website, Instagram/Facebook, and your livestream link. These appear publicly.
  • Location — your street address and the time zone your gatherings run in. The time zone is required because service times depend on it.
  • Service times — your regular gatherings (day, one or more start times, a label, and a location). These are recurring gatherings, not one-time events. Add, edit, or remove rows; each change saves immediately.

To save a section, make your edits and choose Save changes. A short confirmation appears; if a save can't go through, the editor tells you inline so nothing is lost.

Your profile completeness

A Your public home page card at the top shows how many parts of your page have something in them, with a link into each one. In the section list, a small amber dot marks any section that's still missing something. It's only guidance — your profile can be published before everything is filled in.

Publishing

Your profile starts as a draft and isn't publicly visible until you publish it. Use Publish / Unpublish in the header to control that — it's a deliberate, separate action, so saving a section never publishes you by surprise. View public profile (Open site while you're a draft) opens your live address in a new tab. To see unsaved work in progress, use Preview, or the Open site link on the Your public home page card — that one shows a private draft preview only you and your admins can reach.

Changing your handle

Your handle is your public web address (for example yourchurch.psalmly.app). You can change it in Basics, and Psalmly checks the new one is available as you type.

Because there's no automatic forwarding yet, changing your handle breaks any existing links to the old address — anything you've shared or printed will stop working. Psalmly asks you to confirm before switching, and then moves you to your new address.
