The contact form and your inbox
How visitors reach you from your public page and what you do with their messages — the Get in touch form, your admin Inbox, replying from your own email, the Inbox/Archived/Spam buckets, internal team notes, and deleting. Psalmly never emails on your behalf.
Your public page has a Get in touch form so anyone — a visitor, a newcomer, someone needing prayer — can reach your church without an account. Their messages collect in your Inbox in the admin sidebar, where you and your fellow admins work through them together.
What a visitor sends
The form opens as a panel on your public page and asks for a few simple things:
- Name and email (so you can reply).
- A topic — one of New here, Visit, Prayer, Volunteer, or General — so you can tell at a glance what each message is about.
- A message.
No account or sign-in is required, and the form is protected against spam bots before anything is sent. Each message is tagged with its topic and, when it can be determined, a rough location, so your Inbox is easy to scan.
Where messages land
Every submission appears in your church's Inbox, reached from the admin sidebar. A small unread count sits on the Inbox link so you know when something new has arrived. Any admin of the church can see and work the Inbox — it's a shared queue, not a personal one.
Messages stay inside Psalmly. Psalmly does not email anyone on your church's behalf — there's no auto-reply and no outbound campaign. The Inbox is simply where visitor messages are collected for you to read and respond to in your own way.
Replying
Open a message and choose Reply by email. That opens a new email to the visitor in your own email app (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail — whatever you use), pre-addressed and ready to write, so your reply comes from your real address and lands in your sent folder like any other email. There's also a Copy email action if you'd rather paste the address somewhere else. Replying doesn't change a message's status — you decide when to file it away (below).
Keeping the Inbox tidy
Messages live in one of three places, and you move them as you go:
- Inbox — your working queue; new messages arrive here.
- Archived — handled and done, but kept (and still searchable) for your records.
- Spam — junk, moved out of the way.
On the Inbox tab you can also filter to Unread only to focus on what you haven't read yet, and mark a message read or unread by hand. There's a search box across whichever tab you're in, and you can select several messages at once to archive, mark as spam, or move back — the bulk actions adapt to the tab you're on (for example, from Archived you can move messages back to the Inbox).
Notes for your team
Each message has an internal notes thread that only your admins can see — never the visitor. Use it to coordinate: "Called back, invited them Sunday," "Passed to the prayer team." Notes are stamped with who wrote them and when, and you can delete your own. It turns a shared Inbox into shared follow-up, so nothing falls through the cracks and no one double-replies.
Deleting
If you want a message gone for good, Delete removes it permanently (you'll be asked to confirm first). For anything you might want to look back on, Archive is the safer choice — it clears the message out of your queue while keeping it on hand.
