Drafting a page with AI
How AI-enabled churches draft a whole custom page from a plain-English description — where to start, what AI produces (a title, intro, and a mix of blocks), that it only uses the facts you give it, reviewing and saving the draft, and choosing to add to or replace an existing page.
If your church has the Psalmly AI assistant (part of a paid plan), you don't have to build a custom page block by block. Describe the page in plain words and Psalmly drafts it for you — a title, an intro, and a sensible mix of blocks — which you then review and tweak. It's the fastest way to get most of a page done; think of it as a strong first draft, not the final word.
Where to start
There are two ways in, both in the page editor (Pages → New page, or open an existing page):
- Start with AI — on a brand-new, empty page, a panel greets you right where the blocks go.
- Draft with AI — a button in the editor's top bar, available any time.
Either one opens a box where you describe the page.
Describe what you want
Write a sentence or two about the page — what it's for and the key details. The more specific you are, the fuller the draft. Include the concrete things a visitor needs:
"A page for our daycare, Grace Daycare. It's $200/week for infants and $150/week for toddlers. We have a playground, a swimming pool, and offer reading lessons."
Click Draft page. In a few seconds the blocks appear in the editor and the live preview fills in — typically a welcome, a heading or two, a table for any prices, cards for the things you listed, and a closing call to action.
It only uses your facts
Psalmly drafts from what you wrote, plus your church's own details (your name, location). It will not invent prices, hours, phone numbers, addresses, dates, or staff you didn't give it — if a detail wasn't in your description, it's left out rather than guessed. So the prices on the page are the prices you typed, and nothing is made up. (You can always add more by editing the blocks afterward.)
Review, then save
A drafted page lands as unsaved changes — nothing is published or even saved yet. That's on purpose: read it over, fix the wording, add anything it missed, remove anything you don't want, then flip to Published and click Save changes when you're happy. AI does most of the page; the final say is always yours.
Adding to a page that already has content
If you draft on a page that already has blocks, Psalmly asks what to do:
- Add to page — the new blocks are appended to what's there, and your existing title and intro are kept.
- Replace page — the draft takes over (you can still undo by leaving without saving).
On a blank page there's nothing to ask — it just builds it.
Tips for a better draft
- List your specifics. Name each amenity, program, or age group, and the draft will turn them into cards instead of glossing over them.
- Give the numbers. Prices and rates become a clean table.
- Say who and when. Meeting days, times, and who a program is for all make it onto the page.
- Run it again. Not quite right? Draft once more, or just edit the blocks by hand — it's a starting point, and the editor is right there.
