Moderating the prayer board
How admins and leaders review the whole prayer board, change who can see a request, protect anonymity, and remove posts — with care.
As an admin or leader, the prayer board is where you help your church carry one another's burdens well. You see everything members share — and you have two gentle tools to keep the space safe: change who can see a request and remove a request. That's it, by design. The goal is care, not surveillance.

What you can see
You and your prayer team see every request in the church, including prayer-team-only requests that the wider congregation never sees. Members only ever see whole-church and anonymous requests; the sensitive ones are held just for those who care for them. Anonymous requests show as Anonymous to you too — the person's name stays hidden.
At the top you'll find a quick read on the board: how many active requests there are, how many are prayer-team only, and how many came in this week. Use the filter tabs (All / Whole church / Prayer team / Anonymous) and the search box to find a specific request.
Posting a request
Admins can post too — choose Post a request, write it, and pick who can see it, just like a member would. Use Prayer team only for something the leadership should hold quietly.
Changing who can see a request
Every named request has a Change visibility control that moves it between two audiences:
- Whole church — everyone in the church can see it.
- Prayer team only — just leaders and admins.
Reach for Prayer team only when a request is more sensitive than the person may have realised, or was shared more publicly than it should have been — leaders still see who it's from, so they can care for them directly. Changing the audience never edits a person's words; it only changes who can see them.
Anonymity stays with the author
Whether a request is anonymous is the author's own choice, made when they post — and only they can change it. As an admin you can't make a request anonymous or reveal one that is. To shield someone whose request feels too exposed, move it to prayer team only (or remove it). An anonymous request therefore has no "Change visibility" control — you can still delete it.
Removing a request
The trash button deletes a request. Deleting is permanent — there's no archive — and it also clears everyone's "I'm praying" marks on that post, so we ask you to confirm first. Use it for spam, something posted by mistake, or content that doesn't belong on the board.
A note on care
These tools exist to protect people — to move a raw, sensitive request somewhere safer, to shield an identity, or to clear something that shouldn't be there. Lead with that posture, and the prayer board stays a place your church can trust.
