Your saved payment methods
How your saved cards and bank accounts work in Psalmly — one wallet that works across all your churches, adding a card or linking a bank for lower-cost giving, choosing a default, removing a method, and how your details are kept secure.
When you give through Psalmly, the cards and bank accounts you save make up your wallet — and it follows you everywhere. Save a method once and you can use it at any of your churches that accepts it, without re-entering it each time.
Adding a method
The first time you give, tap Add a payment method in the giving form. Any time after that, open your Giving page — in the mobile app, tap Manage on the payment methods card — and tap Add bank or card. You can add:
- A credit or debit card.
- A bank account (ACH), by securely connecting your bank.
Everything is entered on secure, encrypted screens. Once a method is saved, it's ready for your next gift.
Most churches take both cards and bank transfers, but one that's still finishing its payment setup may only accept one of them. If so, the method shows as Not accepted here when you go to give, and you can pick another. A newly linked bank account can also take a moment to verify before its first gift.
A note on linking your bank
Giving directly from a bank account usually costs your church much less to process than a card, so it's an especially generous way to give. When you link a bank account, you're authorizing gifts you make through Psalmly — including to other churches you belong to, since your wallet is shared. You're only ever charged for gifts you actually confirm.
Your default method
One method is your default — the one selected automatically when you start a gift. You can change which method is the default at any time on your Giving page, and you can always pick a different method for any individual gift before you confirm it.
Removing a method
Remove a card or bank account from your wallet whenever you like — removing it can't be undone, and re-adding a bank account means verifying it again.
If the method is funding a recurring gift, Psalmly tells you what will happen before you confirm: the gift moves to another saved method of the same type if you have one, and stops if you don't. If it has to stop, just set up a new recurring gift with the method you kept (see Recurring gifts).
Is my information safe?
Yes. Your full card and bank numbers are handled by Stripe, Psalmly's payment provider, under bank-grade security — they're never stored by Psalmly, and we never see them. What you see in your wallet is just a friendly label, like the card brand and its last four digits, so you can tell your methods apart.
