Announcements you receive

Announcements are how your churches share news with you — a change to Sunday's service, a potluck this weekend, a building update. They reach you by email and right inside Psalmly, so you won't miss them — and on the mobile app you may also get a push notification on your phone.

Where they show up in the app

You don't have to go looking. Announcements gather wherever you already are:

• Your dashboard — an Announcements section pulls together the latest from all your churches, each tagged with the church it came from, so everything is in one place.
• Your church's home — each church shows its own recent announcements, with View all to see the rest.
• The Announcements list — open it from a church to read everything it has shared.

Tap any announcement to open it and read the whole message.

Reading, not replying

Announcements are for reading — there are no replies, comments, or reactions. Like the prayer board, the feed is kept calm and uncluttered on purpose. If something needs a response, the announcement itself will tell you how (an event to RSVP to, someone to contact).

Announcement emails

You also get announcements by email, with the church's name on them, so important news reaches you even when you're not in the app.

Every announcement email has an unsubscribe link in the footer. If you'd rather not get them, unsubscribing is simple — and it's narrow on purpose:

• It stops announcement emails from that one church, and nothing else.
• You'll still see that church's announcements in the app — unsubscribing only turns off the email copy.
• Your account and security emails are never affected.

Because it's per church, unsubscribing from one church's announcements leaves your other churches' emails exactly as they were. Changed your mind later? Ask one of that church's admins and they can help you start receiving them again.

Push notifications on your phone

If you use the Psalmly mobile app, a church can choose to send a push notification when it posts an announcement. Tap it and it opens straight to the announcement.

You're in control of these:

• They arrive only if you've allowed notifications for Psalmly on your phone — the app asks when you first set it up, and you can change it anytime in your phone's settings.
• Inside the app, your Notifications settings let you turn announcement notifications on or off for yourself, across all your churches at once.
• This is separate from email. Turning off announcement emails doesn't stop push, and muting push doesn't stop the email — and either way, you'll always still see the announcement in the app.

Announcements meant for a group

If you belong to a group within a church, you may receive an announcement that was sent just to that group. It reaches you the same way — by email and in the app — alongside the church-wide ones.
