Managing your plan and billing
How to see your church's plan and change it — the free, Community, and Growth tiers, upgrading or downgrading, monthly vs annual billing, updating your card and viewing invoices through Stripe, and cancelling. What's free forever and what a paid plan adds.
Psalmly's core church-management tools are free forever. Paid plans add the extras that cost us more to run — the AI assistant, your own custom domain, more custom pages, a higher member count, and 0% platform fee on online giving. You manage all of it under Subscription in the admin sidebar.
The three plans
- Free — the whole core app: members, prayer, events, groups, announcements, bulletins, the directory, your public page, and online giving (with a small platform fee). Up to 50 members.
- Community — everything in Free, plus the AI assistant and Scribe, a custom domain, up to 3 custom pages, 25 knowledge base articles, email support, and 0% Psalmly platform fee on giving. Up to 250 members.
- Growth — everything in Community, with 4× the monthly AI credits, up to 10 custom pages, 100 knowledge base articles, and priority support. Up to 1,000 members.
The Subscription page always shows the current prices and lets you switch between monthly and annual billing (annual works out to two months free). Member limits are soft — Psalmly will nudge you to upgrade as you grow, but it never blocks a new person from joining.
Seeing where you stand
The top of the page shows your current plan, its price and renewal date, a members meter, your next invoice, and your payment method. If your church has the AI assistant, you'll also see AI usage & credits here — the credits your assistant, Scribe, and AI drafts have used this month, and an Add credits button if you want to top up.
Upgrading, downgrading, or switching
Under Choose a plan, pick the tier and billing cycle you want. The button tells you what will happen — Upgrade, Downgrade, Switch to Free, or switch monthly ↔ annual — and paid changes are prorated automatically, so you only pay the difference.
- Starting a paid plan takes you to Stripe Checkout, a secure hosted page, to enter your card. (Psalmly never handles card numbers directly.)
- Once you're paid, updating your card, changing plans, or cancelling all happen in the Stripe billing portal — the Manage in Stripe link opens it.
Invoices and receipts
Your invoice history is on the Subscription page, each with a PDF you can download for your records.
Cancelling
You can cancel anytime from the billing portal (or the Cancel option on the page). Your church keeps its paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for, then returns to the free plan — your data, members, and giving history all stay put. The AI assistant switches off (any credits you bought are held for you, not lost), your custom domain comes down, and online giving keeps working but the Psalmly platform fee applies again — including on gifts people already give regularly, which are re-priced to match.
